North Tyneside’s Provider Forum
The Provider Forum is a sub group of North Tyneside’s Learning Disability Partnership Board.
It meets every other month, usually at the Oxford Centre.
All service providers in North Tyneside are invited to attend the Forum and minutes and agendas are sent to providers on the mailing list.
There are two parts to each meeting; Providers meet together with staff members from north Tyneside Council to share information then providers meet above to discuss things that are issues or concerns for them. The Provider Forum feeds back to each Partnership Board.
The purpose of the Provider Forum is to
- Have a two-way exchange between North Tyneside Council and its Service Providers.
- To highlight and share policies, legislation and government papers which affect services for people with a learning disability. Speakers are invited to each meeting and recent presentations have included Valuing People Now, Personalisation, Health issues, Transport, Assistive Technology, Local Involvement Network, Housing and Individual Supported Living Services.
- To develop links between the Council and providers to make sure that enough services of the right type are available to meet the needs of people with a learning disability in North Tyneside.
