North Tyneside Learning Disability Partnership Board

A Partnership Board is a group of people that make sure the ideas in Valuing People Now are being used to make life better for people with learning disabilities. The North Tyneside Learning Disability Partnership Board has 21 members, who come to meetings every 2 months. People who come to the meetings are all interested in improving services / support for people with learning disabilities.

The Board does the following things:

  • Agrees overall plans (strategies)
  • Decides on what is most important (priorities) to make Valuing People Now happen in North Tyneside. This will include looking at budgets, future needs, how services are supporting people, etc.
  • Check how things are going (monitor progress) by receiving regular reports on developments in each area e.g. housing, health etc
  • Make sure people with learning disabilities, family carers, local voluntary and independent providers are fully involved and represented on developments
  • Agree reports / issues to be presented to the Board
  • Make sure plans link to other local agencies priorities – for example the North Tyneside Local Strategic Partnership.
